Mercedes Benz is dreaming big with the Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 Cabriolet sedan. This is a car that you’re sure you saw Cary Grant drive somewhere in a movie with a gorgeous woman in the passenger seat. But it is not. It was not a vision until 2017.

You would think such a beautiful car with the classic curvy styling and the spoked wheel look would have to be a gas hog, as all luxury cars are in the USA. But, alas, it is not. It is an electric car.

This is an automobile that is extravagant, intelligent, classic and as they put it – Sensual Purity. And it is indeed, Sensual Purity.

Measuring almost 20 feet (6 meters) in length, the Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 Cabriolet incorporates the classic proportions of art deco design with its extremely long hood and puristic, flowing lines, and at the same time completely reinterprets these aesthetic principles. The curved body boasts a sporty, stretched design which is characterized by powerful structural elements in conjunction with the sharp feature line. This side feature line defines the upper vehicle body, from the radiator grille across the entire length of the vehicle through to the rear…

The extended, round “boat tail” format of the Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 Cabriolet’s rear recalls a luxury yacht, and narrow tail lamps which emphasize the width of the vehicle are integrated in its outer edges. Further distinctive features at the rear include the diffuser with aluminum frame and the air outlets behind the wheel arches…

Surely, like most people, you simply must have one, or at least see one in person. They have premiered it at a couple of car shows, and likely will again. But currently there are only 300 copies of this masterpiece in circulation in the entire world. Maybe if you write a nice letter to Santa, he will leave one in your driveway on Christmas morning.
