When shopping for a used Jaguar, be aware that some of those models will need to go directly into Jaguar auto repair. There is a recall in effect for the 2009-2011 Jaguar XF and 2007-2011 Land Rover Range Rover.
Jaguar Auto Repair on Recalls
If you purchase one of these models of Jaguar you’ll need to visit the dealer to make sure the passenger side airbag was replaced. Not every one of these models are listed on the recall notice. You’ll need to search the VIN to see if the car you own or are thinking of purchasing is in the recall.
Recall Search
To find out if the car you want to buy is on the list, go to SafeCar.gov and enter the vehicle’s VIN number. The registered owners of the cars in the recall were notified by mail, but sometimes notifications get lost in the mail or the owners don’t follow through with the repair.
The repairs for these airbags on the recall are done free of charge at the Jaguar dealer. You will need to check with the dealer to see if the repair was done on the car you want buy, if it is on the list.
