Common Peugeot Electrical Problems
There are a variety of electrical failures you might experience with this make of vehicle. There are many related to the dashboard such as: incorrect warning lights, malfunctioning infotainment system and glitches in the touchscreen. But there are also electrical problems with the mirror adjustments, the central locking system, software problems and battery drain.
Peugeot Engine Troubles
Problems with engine stalling and overheating are common in the earlier models, but not so much since 2021. The overheating is related to the faulty sensors, but not always. Diesel injectors and particulate filter problems are common. Other troubles include excessive oil consumption, turbo failure and timing belt failures.
Peugeot Transmission Problems
The shifting of the Peugeot is fraught with problems like a jerky feel when it shifts. It is very rough and leads to a ride that isn’t that smooth with manual shifting, especially due to the slipping clutch and grinding. All in all, the gearbox is noisy, so these problems alone make for a not so great experience in car ownership.

If you’re buying an older model from 2008-2015 be sure to find out if the fuel leak issues have been successfully resolved. Some models had problems and some didn’t.
