In the 1950s and 60s Steve McQueen’s movie sequence Le Mans featured the iconic 911 and it was the star of the show. If the movie were to be redone this year, the new Porsche 911 Targa 4S Heritage Design Edition would fit right in perfectly.
Compared with the 1970 film original, this particular model is two and a half times more powerful. Typically, the 911 Targa 4S Heritage Design Edition boasts 450 hp and 10.3 – 9.9 l/100 km fuel consumption combined. Its CO2 emissions combined is 235 – 227 g/km.
The Design Elements
The interior and exterior design elements are reminiscent of the past and blended with the latest technology. Only 992 of these 911 Targa 4S models will be built, and it’s according to the internal model series code.
The exterior colors, such as cherry metallic, are available. This exclusive paintwork, blended with gold logos, creates an authentic 1950s style. The Porsche competition history is brought to life by the spear-shaped graphic motorsports elements. Another essential design element is the inclusion of the Porsche Heritage badge, awarded when the Porsche 356 reached the 100,000 kilometers milestone.
Interior
The exclusive leather interior also pays tribute to the past. It blends Black leather with OLEA club leather in Atacama Beige or OLEA club leather with Bordeaux Red leather. The 50s zeitgeist and fashion are revived by the use of corduroy door trims and seats.
Other elements such as the Exclusive Manufaktur leather trim, microfiber fabric perforated roofliner, and the rev counter/ stopwatch add some level of an irresistible classic look.
Touch of Modernity
The heritage design model is equipped with the latest technology for infotainment and assistance systems. It has an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission, and together with the Biturbo boxer engine, the vehicle accelerates an impressive 0-100 km/h under 3.6 seconds.
