Audi recently kicked off the teaser campaign for the 2024 Q5 crossover, hinting at upgrades coming for the brand’s popular compact SUV.
The first official sneak peek reveals the new Q5 will feature Matrix LED headlights. And you’ll probably love it!
Innovative LED Lighting Dynamism
Matrix LED lighting utilizes advanced technology allowing dynamic and adaptive beam shaping. The lights can adjust to traffic conditions for optimal visibility without blinding other drivers. Matrixbeams also enable unique signature lighting designs.
The teaser indicates Matrix LEDs will likely expand beyond just the top Q5 trim, which means the technology will be accessible on more variants. But there’s a caveat!
The flashy lights will remain a pricey upgrade option, as they are on Audi’s latest models including the Q8.
Other Updates
Besides futuristic lighting, we can expect the 2024 Q5 to sport revised front and rear exterior styling. Audi will update the grille and bumpers to give the Q5 a fresh, modern appearance without abandoning its core design.
Inside, the Q5 should take inspiration from the recently revealed Q6 e-tron SUV. That means a new high-tech cockpit layout with larger OLED touchscreens and advanced interfaces. Audi’s sleek new “Digital Stage” dashboard design brings screens front and center with crisp colorful graphics and animations.
Hybrid Engine
Under the hood, turbocharged gas-electric hybrid powertrains will continue serving duty. Performance and efficiency aims to see small gains, but no huge power jumps. Fully electric versions aren’t expected since Audi now reserves EVs for even-numbered models.
With the teaser campaign just getting started, official details remain scarce. But the unveiling likely nears, potentially at November’s LA Auto Show. The tech-heavy 2024 Q5 looks to continue demonstrating Audi’s innovation in lighting, cabins, and hybrid power.
