In celebration of its 25th anniversary, legendary Italian supercar maker Pagani has pulled out all the stops with the stunning Alisea concept.
The result of a collaboration with 24 designers from IED Torino, this dramatic V12-powered speed machine pays homage to Pagani’s iconic Zonda model that kicked off its incredible journey a quarter century ago.
Breathtaking
At first glance, the Alisea is a breathtaking departure from conventional supercar design thinking. Its smooth, uncluttered surfaces flow elegantly, eschewing the typical large vents and scoops adorning most high-performance machines.
And yet, this minimalist approach belies the beast lurking within – an AMG-sourced V12 powerplant mounted behind the seats in true Pagani tradition.
While embracing a new aesthetic direction, the Alisea masterfully incorporates vintage Zonda DNA into its lithe form. Footprint and wheelbase dimensions mirror the revered original, but a roof sitting 75mm lower lends an even more aggressive, planted stance. The bubble canopy evokes classic 1980s endurance racers, reinterpreted through a futuristic lens.
Up front, Pagani’s signature quad-light face has been reimagined with sleeker lines and curves, complemented by ultrathin A-pillars for uncompromised visibility.
Bulging fenders hint at the muscular mechanicals tucked within, guiding your gaze rearwards towards the Alisea’s piece de resistance – a central rocket-inspired exhaust bundle erupting from the car’s rear separating “shoulders”.
A Touch of Vintage
It’s a total package that somehow manages to feel simultaneously vintage and avant-garde, minimalist yet extreme. The Alisea’s flowing form encapsulates the past 25 years of Pagani’s relentless pursuit of automotive art while suggesting tantalizing possibilities for the next quarter century to come.
If a production version retaining the V12 heart and sensual sheet metal were greenlit, the Alisea could represent Pagani’s most ambitious and groundbreaking creation yet. A fitting tribute to the company’s first quarter century, and a worthy herald of the next.
